Easy Goozle

This has to be easy.  With all the information given.

Two people John Farr and Justine Levy
in Feb 1884
in Scranton, PA
did something
the following day, in the local paper
the family of either John or Justine
mourned their child's death

What did John and Justine do?
And name the saloon they met at before they did it.

I figured out what they did, and what appeared in the paper. It's the saloon part I'm stuck at.

Then you found the story in a different source than we did - and we're honestly surprised there's more than one place - the internet is amazing sometimes.

Today, I can't even find where I found it -- I think it was a NYT archived story. I thought the reverse bigotry was interesting. The author of that story did too, noting that in every way, John Farr was the Levy family's equal (except for that one thing, anyway).

Christy, the answer you emailed was correct.

And to anyone coming here late...just plug the names into Google.

It wasn't that easy when this was posted, since the NYTimes opening their archives was a new thing.
