Here's a new Goozle Challenge

When you least expect it....

The #85 was retired for the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals  over two decades ago.
1) What was the phone number of the guy for whom the number was retired, back when he was 17 years old?
2) What was the phone number of his father's mother 9 years later?
If you take the numerical portion of both numbers and add them together, what you will have will resemble a year.
In that year there was a change of power in a European country, and a rather famous prince took control.
3) What was his name?
4) What was the cause of death for the father of the 17 year old in #1?  Find as graphic a description as you can, and tell us where the 'cause' of death ended up.  (You don't have to type in the whole description, it is rather gruesome.)  The things you don't learn in high school about famous St. Louisans!

Actually, this is all easy to look up, if you know where to look.

We were surprised to discover the answer to #4 ourselves. We don't think it's very well-known in St. Louis.

DOUBLE YAY. I just finished reading a particular book...

Nobody should check your reading list prior to creating these, since you are our most regular participant. We suspect the book doesn't contain the answer to #4, since that detail wasn't readily available in 1992. Though it may reference the event in greater detail than most online bios.

I'm having difficulty with #4, actually. I know the cause, but perhaps not the "cause" since you used the word gruesome.

It is clear you figured out the answer to #3, and we learned a new psychosis today, congratulations, and thanks!

One of this morning's episodes of "Charmed" featured a Wendigo, or rather, two Wendigos.
