- The assumption no one who voted for Gore would vote for Bush
- Heavy registration drives that are unaccounted for in polls
- Millions of people with cell phones (and no LAN lines) unaccounted for in polls

But we agree -- points #2 and #3 provide more hope than #1.

Much as I'd like to believe point number one I know, and know of, plenty of Dems who have become staunch defenders of Bush (some even switching party registration) as a result of 9/11. While that number may only be a small percentage of Gore supporters, it was a close enough race that they would likely make a difference in this election.
